The design of this modular house is based on a 3.7 m × 3.7 m modular grid, carefully chosen to optimize interior spaces in terms of proportions and floor area. Each module serves a specific function: there’s a bedroom module, a bathroom module with entrance and utility room, another module with bathroom and separate toilet, and finally a module with a cloakroom and utility room. Connection of two basic modules creates a living room with a kitchenette. There are three standard walls (S1, S2, and S3) to define the spaces.
These modular walls, combined on the grid, allow for various layout options adaptable to different requirements, plot sizes, and orientations. The walls serve both as internal partitions and perimeter structures, while openings may be used as doors and windows. The building consists of boxes connected to form different structures according to the layout. The modular units are topped with a flat roof, while the façade features larch slats juxtaposed with black Cembrit boards and black painted metal sheeting. Striking details such as all-round parapets in black and a black aluminium plinth add character to the building’s exterior
