Located on Ovenecká Street in the popular café area of the Letná district, Pilot Cafe offers an alternative to the mostly small-scale local cafés. The area is divided into a preparation area, facilities and a serving area. The latter is dominated by oak-veneer clad windows inviting guests to sit and watch the hustle and bustle of Letná. According to the brief, we designed a simple, clean, and sunlit café space with an aviation theme, combining shades of grey with white and natural oak.
For seating, we used the iconic Ironica with the new Leaf chair model by TON. Lighting was supplied by Bomma and the affiliated company Ilumix. We installed a concrete epoxy trowel from AB Parquet on the floor. The space is dominated by a wood-panelled lounge, separated from the rest by a sliding metalwork structure. The interior is playfully complemented by aviation-themed elements, such as propellers.
